Snapchat's My AI posted a mysterious Story on its own and stopped responding, panicking users
In August 2023 Snapchat's My AI chatbot, which is not designed to post Stories, posted a one-second image that looked like a wall or ceiling and then stopped answering messages. With hundreds of millions of daily users, many panicked that the bot had gone sentient or was watching them. Snap said it was a temporary technical glitch and that My AI cannot normally post Stories.
